Students not paying attention when reading aloud? Throw popcorn at them. When reading aloud call on a student. After that student has completed reading, say “popcorn” and then call on another student. If the student called on was not keeping track, start reading over at the beginning. I guarantee you will only need to start over a couple of times before students start giving their undivided attention.
